CM: Reflection post on Brighton shoot

Brighton:
  • The first time we went to Brighton we had trouble with two group members unable to go which is similar to the problem we had with "Hitlist" (our AS production). Furthermore once putting the footage against the song we realised that the Grain of Voice didn't fit the lead singer. To over come this I had to change my singing style to a more "open mouthed approach. This has massively changed the authenticity within the production as with the new footage it seemed like I was actually singing the song.

  • Also the lighting in Brighton was planned we checked weather forecast to get the exact conditions we wanted. It was overcast but no chance of rain. This is a lesson learned from our AS production "Hitlist" where the lighting wasn't what we wanted and ended up completely contradicting the time of day we had set.

  1. I agree with the grainof voice comment also upon capturing the footage and playing around with the effects drasticly changed the effect of the clip and made it look far more suitable.

  2. I think our video will take on a new level with this footage - we now have more than just a studio shoot, and with the quality of that already, we can now switch between locations which will also have different colour adjustments. I am really excited to see how this will turn out in the next few weeks.
